We invite you to express your joy and gratitude to this Obon season by making a donation and seeing a personalized lantern inscribed with your friend or loved one's name. Your generous donation keeps their memory shining brightly while directly supporting our temple's community and cultural programs and services.
Donation Tiers
Select from three distinct lantern tiers to dedicate your remembrance. Donations will go towards the display of lanterns on the Gardena Buddhist Church website now through September 30, 2026. .
Large Cylindrical Lantern (Odawaran Chochin): An elongated, traditional ceremonial lantern adorned with a golden lotus. - $300
Premium Lantern (Osubo Chochin): A classic, elegant teardrop lantern with Maki-e style end caps. - $200
Standard Round Lantern (Maru Chochin): A timeless, perfectly spherical festival lantern. $100
An Invitation to GBC's Obon Festival

In addition to our virtual wall, we invite you, your family, and your friends to join us in person. Please celebrate with us at the annual Gardena Buddhist Church Obon Festival on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd. Let us dance, remember, and share in the joy of the Obon season together.
